Menoufia University Founded in 1976 in Shebin El-kom, Menoufia University (MU). The Menoufia faculty of medicine was established in 1976 and located in Shebien El-Kom city. Study started first in the clinical stage "4th class" on Saturday 27th October 1984.

Our faculty mission is to provide medical education that guarantees a national competitor graduate, who is committed to medical ethics, aspired to long life self-learning and team working: advancing the scientific research and having an active role in community development and family health promotion in Menoufia. The faculty is accredited from The National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education “NAQAAE” in 2013. MMJ is the official journal of Menoufia University and Menoufia Faculty of Medicine. Menoufia University, as one of the higher education institutions in Egypt, hopes to be among the leading universities in the Arab world and Africa in the development of knowledge, research and the welfare of the societies. Contributing to the cultural, cognitive and moral construction of the human being and deepening national and international belonging by providing educational, research and community services in accordance with reference standards to achieve sustainable development of the environment and gain community confidence in a way that achieves the university local and regional upgrading. Also, by preparing memoranda of understanding and proposed cooperation projects with other Universities and research institutions in Egypt of worldwide.

The faculty aims to promote, develop, and exchange scientific knowledge and technical co-operation between clinicians, scientists and others involved in the field of Medicine. It also strives to promote scientific research in various aspects of Medicine and to establish highest ethical standards in Medicine. Also, It works to disseminate knowledge and information amongst the general public in relation to medicine. ISOT accepts grants, donations, and endowment from the Government, public and individuals for achieving the objectives of faculty and institutes awards, fellowships, scholarships, grants, stipends, remuneration to the students, deserving members and the research scholars to enable them to undertake education, patient care and research in the field of medicine. It organizes national, international, regional meeting, conferences, and CME. It also interacts with other national and international societies, NGOs, agencies, and individuals to promote the objectives of the faculty.   About the Journal

Menoufia Medical Journal, a publication of Menoufia University, is a peer-reviewed online journal with Quarterly print on demand compilation of issues published. The journal’s full text is available online at http://www.mmj.eg.net. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository. The journal does not charge for submission, processing or publication of manuscripts and even for color reproduction of photographs.

Digital Archiving

Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS.

Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website.

CLOCKSS will enable any library to maintain their own archive of content from Wolters Kluwer Medknow and other publishers, with minimal technical effort and using cheaply available hardware.

Ahead of Print policy

Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Wolters Kluwer Medknow has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.

Advertisements

While advertisements are crucial to this journal to be able to keep all content free for everyone, ethical considerations are in place to ensure the integrity of the journal and its content:

  • "Pop-up" and "banner" ads appear on a random, rotating basis. The advertiser has no control or input over the pages where their ads appear.
  • The Editorial Board has full and final approval over the content of all advertisements.
  • Advertisers will never be shown any manuscripts or other content prior to publication.

  Scope of the journal

Scope of the journal:

The Journal publishes high influence articles on medical research which has positive impact nationally, regionally, and globally. The journal's regular subscribers include medical practitioners, healthcare professionals, authors, other bio-medical researchers, medical students, policy makers and ultimately patients.

We invite scientific submissions in medicine from the authors in the following categories: original, substantiated, and unpublished research in all aspects of basic and applied research in medicine, systematic as well as narrative reviews, case reports/series, letter to the editor and short communication etc. Some of the areas of focus are clinical research, transitional and collaborative research in medicine. Submissions are preferred on the basis of its originality, implications over developing communities, importance.
